MOOD BOARD
With my mood board this time around, I wanted to keep things more simple, having the interest within the details of a simple scene. I think having a dark mood helps to create further interest in a scene that can otherwise be, pretty boring.
Last assignment I was definitely too ambitious for what my current mental capacity allows, so even though the quality won't be perfect, I hope it's at least better this time around.
MY PROCESS
Firstly the issues! Because what 3D subject would be complete without a breakdown!

It didn't take long for me to discover that my quixel bridge wasn't exporting into maya successfully. At first I glossed over this fact, moving onto the next thing but knew I eventually needed to come back to it.

Finding and downloading resources in Bridge was fine, it was exporting them where the issue started. Each time I would get the same error message over and over "error could not send data over port 13291." I tried reinstalling everything but nothing changed. Google didn't provide other options to fix it either. I did notice that the MS plugin wasn't included in Maya 2023, I'm not sure how much this had to do with things though.

I found in Bridge settings that the API port was different to "13291" from the error message earlier, so I decided to change it to match the error message, which finally allowed for a successful exportation. However, after exporting, the assets still did not appear in Maya.
The general consensus to work around this issue has been to use Maya 2022 and then export from there to Maya 2023.

This method worked well for me when it came to objects but not materials. To get materials into Maya 2023 I had to import my current scene into Maya 2022 and back into 2023. I often found that importing files from Maya 2022 into 2023 lead to the error message "could not save file x" after saving. This unfortunately lead to hours of back tracking even with my many back up files.
The rug, wall, and grass textures would not behave no matter what I did, so I got rid of the rug, changed the walls to the clay presets in Maya. As for the grass, I just added some clover mesh and decided to cover up the mess in post-production.
